Let me tell you about this little kitchen gadget I picked up recently for my bachelor brother who sucks at cooking a decent pot of rice. It’s a small rice cooker from the GreenLife company.

GreenLife Go Grains Rice Cooker Review
Fuzzy Logic Technology
The GreenLife Rice Cooker feature that helps even the worst cook achieve rice perfection is the innovative Smart Grain fuzzy logic technology. But, what’s this technology that can turn a newbie into a rice guru in the blink of an eye?
How does a fuzzy logic rice cooker work?
I never thought I’d nerd out over a rice cooker but here I am. A rice cooker with fuzzy logic has precise temperature control and cooking times. This technology uses complex algorithms to monitor and adjust the cooking process, ensuring that your rice is cooked to perfection every time. The Smart Grain fuzzy logic technology also has the ability to recognize different types of grains and adjust the cooking process accordingly, so you can enjoy perfectly cooked rice, quinoa, barley, oatmeal, and more.
No-Guess Presets
I’m not gonna lie. Making a good pot of steel cut oats is like a shot in the dark to me. There have been plenty of mornings I was left choking down oats that could have doubled as spackle.
The GreenLife Rice Cooker takes the guesswork out of cooking with its no guess presets feature. This feature provides preset cooking programs for white rice, brown rice, quinoa and steel cut oats with just the press of a button. With this feature, you can say goodbye to undercooked or overcooked rice and grains, and hello to delicious, perfectly cooked meals.
The Best Feature of the GreenLife Rice Cooker: Ceramic Nonstick
One reason I chose this rice cooker for my brother was because of his dedication to all things healthy. The best thing about the GreenLife Go Grains Rice Cooker is the healthy ceramic nonstick coating of the inner pot.
The ceramic coating makes this rice cooker one of the top non toxic rice cookers and sets it apart from others that use Teflon as their nonstick. The ceramic coating of the GreenLife Rice Cooker is made without PFAS, PFOA, lead, or cadmium, making it a safer and healthier option for cooking.
This nonstick coating ensures that your food will not stick to the pot, making cleaning up a breeze. Additionally, the ceramic nonstick coating is scratch resistant and durable. Just make sure not to use any metal utensils when removing your cooked food and it will last for years.
Any Negatives?
Even though this is a great appliance to cook perfect rice, there are a couple of things that may make you think twice before choosing the GreenLife Rice Cooker.
To start, this rice cooker has a relatively small capacity of 4 cups of cooked rice (2 cups uncooked). This amount is ok for smaller families or single people. However, if you have a larger family you may have to make multiple batches of rice. Alternatively, you may even opt for a larger rice cooker such as the Instant Zest 8 Cup One Touch Rice Cooker.
Secondly, we didn’t like that the GreenLife Rice Cooker doesn’t have a steam option. One of my brother’s favorite after-gym meals is a big bowl of brown rice and steamed broccoli. Many rice steamers come with a steamer basket that can be used to steam veggies. However, since the GreenLife Rice Cooker doesn’t have a steam option, he has to cook his veggies using a separate pot.

Summarizing Our GreenLife Rice Cooker Review
There were a couple of key benefits that made the GreenLife Rice Cooker a great purchase for my brother.
Healthier Cooking
If you’re looking to cook rice in an appliance that uses healthy nonstick, then this is a great option. The ceramic nonstick coating is derived from sand, so no dangerous PFAS, PFOA, lead or cadmium or present.
Won’t Invade Your Kitchen Space
At approximately 8”L x 7.5”W, the GreenLife Go Grains Rice Cooker is smaller than a standard ruler. If you cook rice almost daily like I do, you’ll likely want to keep your rice cooker on the counter. With such a small footprint, this rice cooker won’t crowd your kitchen space.
Quick and Easy Clean-up
I’ve avoided using appliances before because of the thought of the difficult cleaning process involved after the cooking process. However, this rice cooker couldn’t be easier to clean thanks to the ceramic nonstick and dishwasher safe components.
How Do You Clean a GreenLife Rice Cooker
- Be sure the rice cooker has completely cooled off.
- Remove the inner pot, inner cover & steam valve (located on the interior of the rice cooker lid).
- The inner pot, inner cover & steam valve can all be placed on the top rack of the dishwasher for cleaning. However, for longevity and to retain the finish of the components I suggest handwashing.
- Using a damp towel or sponge, wipe the inside and outside of the rice cooker. Pay close attention to the inner lid and the base where the inner pot sits as food debris commonly collects in these places.
- Be sure all removed parts are completely dried prior to reassembly.
- You’re now ready for the next use!
Our Final Thoughts
The 4 cups of cooked rice capacity of the Greenlife Go Grains Rice Cooker may be too limited for those who need larger quantities of rice. However, it’s a great option for bachelors like my brother or anyone else who wants a small, easy-to-use, and healthy rice cooker.
